There are a number of things to think about when considering traveling to Africa. It does not matter which country you want to visit I’m sure your preferred mode of travel is air. There are now many airlines on the various routes and you have a wide range to choose from.

If you want to make great savings on the airfares you can think about some of the following points that I will mention below. Gone are the days when it was the major airlines operating on most routes, smaller airlines have entered the market and the comepetirion has forced air fares to come down.

What you need to do is schedule your visit appropriately. The prices of air tickets are not fixed and so you can never get any quotations for a particular airline. You might be able to get an estimate however. As the week progresses and the year changes the prices also too vary.

Airfares for week day travel are always cheaper than fares for weekend travel. Most people reserve traveling for over the weekends and this is referred to as the peak period of travel. Since the seats on any flight are always limited the prices tend to be higher. The time of the year also matters. The peak period and seasons are not standard they will vary between the airlines.

You will be able to get current airfares, information on available discounts and routes at any one of these:flights from durban to east london travel cape town to johannesburg distance from cape town to bloemfontein

So it’s always a good idea to confirm rates with a particular airline before booking. You can make a booking inperson at the airline ticket office or book by telephone. However if you want to get a discount then you are better of making an online booking. This is because you save the airline money in terms of personnel, stationary and printing. This information can be got from any tour operator or travel guide agency.

There are many airlines that offer flights from UK to South Africa. For one you have several options when it comes to choosing the place of departure. You will find flights to South Africa at the following airports London (LON), London Heathrow (LHR), Glasgow (GLA), Manchester (MAN), Newcastle (NCL) or Birmingham (BHX) airport.

Then you also have a variety of options on which airport you will be landing at in South Africa. There are about 10 airports there but there are only 3 international airports i.e. the OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban international airports. Unless you definitely have an interest in the other cities then OR Tambo airport is good arrival point.

In fact most of the flights that eventually get to Durban or Cape Town from UK make a stop at Johannesburg first.

London (LON), UK to Johannesburg, South Africa

There are six flights you can consider booking for this route. That is, Swiss air, Lufthansa, Emirates, Air France, Etihad Airways and the South Africa airways. If you are looking for non-stop flights UK to South Africa then consider the latter.

The flight takes 11 hours and 35 minutes, which is the shortest time on this route. This flight will leave London for Johannesburg at 18.00 hrs and arrive at 07.25 hrs the next day.

If you are looking into leaving early in the morning then consider Air France. It lives London at 06:40 and flies to South Africa via Paris De Gaulle. It will arrive there at 09.00hrs and takes off for Johannesburg at 10.30 hrs where it will arrive at 22.00 hrs.for further details about how you make your travel arrangements and how to book your ticket visit:
