How To Get Quality Followers From Your Backgrounds For Twitter

November 26th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Image is everything; no matter how much we try to refute it. This is just as true regards web page design, as it is the design of our clothes. As more and more of us join the Twitter family of micro-bloggers, selecting the right backgrounds for your Twitter page is becoming increasingly important.

While the quality of your tweets will be all important, the image you present of yourself through your background will help keep visitors hooked. Having only seconds to make an impression therefore; it is paramount that you get your key information across.

When first starting to use Twitter, (unless really pushing your brand and corporate image), you would be best advised to stick with their standard set of backgrounds. They have been tastefully and cleverly designed; possibly at a cost of thousands, so should not be disregarded.

Once you are more comfortable with using the micro-blogging sensation, you can of course start to express yourself more.

The quickest and most straightforward way to get your own background up and running is to simply upload an image from your desktop or such. There are few computer owners in the world today that cannot work this one out.

Once the image is selected, you then only need to decide which way to display it; tiled or centered. Be sure to check how the definition is altered when selecting this, and if tiling, make sure it doesn’t distract or create pain to the eyes.

Other areas of your background can also be modified; including the sidebar, whilst your color scheme can also be amended to make things more corporate, (complete with your logo), if you are using Twitter as a business tool.

Indeed, if you have a blog or website of any sort, you should always put a link to your twitter page.  You can find follow me on twitter buttons that can be pasted right into your theme or website.

Backgrounds for Twitter should present you, and what you feel to the world. Take some time thinking about what suits you.  As with the account itself, backgrounds for Twitter are an opportunity to tell the world who you are; take your time and get it right.
